Wrapped Gifts

Author's note: We knew that we had to write about presents, because we are so close to Christmas.
 
Have you ever been so exited, when it is Christmas and you see presents wrapped in Christian colors. I wish that it was Christmas, so that I could open my presents, so that I can see my little brother’s face when he opens his first Christmas present, and then see my family members that I haven’t seen in a while.

Elves

Authors note: We wrote this in our writing circles, because we are so into the holiday spirit right now.
   Would you imagine tiny people that help, by making toys for kids? That is what Elves do, they help Santa by making toys for little children. I would like to be an elf so I could make toys, that sounds like fun to toys, such as bikes and other things that little kids enjoy.

Why Should You Read

Author's note: I wanted to write about why people should read, because reading is important in life.

            Have you read a book that you just couldn’t put down? I have seen a lot of books that I can’t put down. I know that one of my relatives that has read a lot of books that they read rapidly. People should be able to read a lot more. Some people don’t have time and some people just don’t like books. Some of the people I know truly love books. There are some books that I want to read, but they are unavailable. Almost every book that I read I think that the book looks remarkable. Collaboration is important to reading books so that you can talk to people about what the book is about, and what they thought about a book.

            Following this further, books aren’t read as much as they should be. People don’t respect how books affect your writing. For my part I didn’t understand it much. Books do affect people’s writing. People, who are great writers, are a good reader for the most part. Some books are history, written by hand, most books are written now. We make more books now; because we have computers and editors who are good at their job.

            At first you could only read from books, now you can read from kindles, iPods, and still books. The books that people write are amazing, and yet some other people don’t write very high-quality books. I don’t see eye to eye when something happens that doesn’t add up in the story. I would read extra if I had more time, but sometimes activities are planned or other times people just don’t want to read. Would you ever stop to read if you had some free time? I know that I would if I had more free time. Reading is one of the most important things to do with writing. You have to read to see other peoples’ writing style, so you most likely would apply it in your writing.

            Do you know any people that hate reading? Reading is good for everybody, you should read every day. People read a lot, and they may not notice it, people read when they watch sports games and you look at the score, that is reading; you read when you look at prices at stores, and in addition you read when you read directions. Reading is important to people, so that we can read and not just wonder what something says. If someone reads a lot, there is a possibility that they would also be a good writer, if someone doesn’t read so much; the likelihood that they are great writers is low.

            All in all, if someone doesn’t read, then it is a possibility that they won’t be able to read some material that may perhaps be important or somewhat they might need it. Reading is needed for most jobs today, if they can’t read well or fast they won’t be very good at their job. The only thing that I am saying is that, reading is very vital to everybody will need this in their future. I hope that anybody who reads this realizes that reading is important.

Santa

Authors note: We decided to write about Santa, because we are in the holiday spirit, since we were in the holiday spirit we knew that we were going to write about Santa.
So never makes kids sad
Also gives people presents
Never lets kids down
Totally awesome to receive from
Awesome and will never let me down

Ghosts

Authors Note: We decided to write about ghosts, because one of our group members has been reading mostly ghost books recently, so we knew that we had to write about ghosts.
Ghouls are like zombie ghosts
Horrifying to some people
Openly scare you
Scare people out of their minds
Torture people to scare them
Sometimes they don’t do anything

The Best Book I Read So Far

Authors note: I wrote about Percy Jackson & The Olympians: The Sea of Monsters because I knew since we started the ideas on what I wanted to write, which was one of my books I wanted to write about The Sea of Monsters.

    I chose this book because I knew that The Sea of Monsters was a good book to choose, because I read the book before it. I just started the book on November 9, 2011 when I got the book, and whenever I pickup the book I can’t put down the book. The book is just so good, it is just so weird so I can’t put down this book. I have to read the rest of this book, because they are coming out with a movie next year. The previous book is some what like this book. This book has a lot more troubles. In the last book the crisis that was going to happen was the Gods were going to fight if Zeus's lightning bolt was not returned, In this book however they’re camp is slowly dieing as there tree has been poisoned by the Titan Lord Kronos, and Percy’s friend Grover is deep trouble. Grover is being held captive by a Cyclops named Polyphemus, he is being mistaken for the his wife and Percy has to save him before the “Wedding” that they are going to have.

   I wish that they would have made the movie sooner so that I could read this series and then move on to the next Rick Riordan Greek mythological books. I wonder how many more books he has made. I didn't even want to read any of these books, until other students had to read the book last year, I heard that most of them liked the book, so I tried it myself. I really liked the book and I was glad that I read The Lightning Thief.


   I want to finish this book soon so that I would be able to see the movie next year, so I can have a little bit more knowledge about what could possibly be a lot different. It always is different then the book, because you can do anything in a book and so much in a movie. They guaranteed have some stuff from the book but not all of it. I really want to see the movie, because it has been so long since the last movie came out. 

The Patriotics Pen

“Am I Proud of America?”

Author's note: I wrote about this, because we had this as a assignment for a patriotic pen for an essay.

          Am I Proud of my Country? I am proud of my country. I love America, because we are a free country and we have the great American sports, baseball, and football. I wish that more people would play football, like in other countries, but most countries that play a sport like baseball, play a game called cricket. But, football is the all American sport. No other country play's football. So, yes I am proud of my country, because of the freedom we have in our country.

I also like my country, because we have great music in America. And also lots of popular music. I also like our country, because we have great schools and sports. I wish that everyone had the kind of advantage we did. Personally I think that America is the best country in the world.

I like America, because I like America, because we have such a big country, so that the America has more room and the mountains and weather in America are just amazing. I like the weather in the southern part of America, part about the northern part of America, or where in Wisconsin it is warm and cold. The great part about Wisconsin is that we can have a cold winter and a really warm summer.

The American Sport

Author's Note: The reason I wrote this and the reason I want you to read it is that football is a better sport than everybody thinks.

I like football; I think that football is the best sport ever. I like that football is only in America, because then football is a unique sport. Some people say that soccer is the best sport, because they think that soccer is the only sport that is played around the world. They’re wrong; there is more than soccer that is played around the world. I know that there is more than one sport, like skiing, and also cross country.

I wish that I could be in football, and that we had more time after lunch so that we could have a little game of two hand touch football. I will probably try to join football next year if that is possible. I wish that more people could play football in the U.S., but the bad thing is, is that you can get a really bad injury in football.

It is so weird, because I used to hate football, and now after two years I love the sport. I don’t know what happened I just suddenly liked playing football in 6^th grade after winter. I seriously don’t know what happened, it’s just so weird. I wish that I would have liked playing football, just a little bit earlier, because when I like playing football, it was right after football sign up was. I don’t like any other version of football, just regular football.

If it is ultimate football, I just hate it then, I only like regular football. I wish that I could have joined football this year. I would like to play a sport that you get to catch or throw something, the sports that have to do anything with catching or throwing are sports that I like. I wish that you could join football at the most a month after school starts.

I would have join football then. I wish that it would be like that. I definitely am going to try to join football next year. I don’t like the fact that you can get a really bad injury. Other than that I love football.

The Math Learning System; Essay

Aleks

Author's Note: This was my first writing piece, so I thought, why not write about aleks, it sounds like a good thing to write about.

          Aleks is great for math, because it’s a self paced math learning website. So if I can’t work on math one night it’s not a big deal, because it’s not like you get work sheets all the time, and it’s not like it’s not some big project you just need to work on aleks and get done with aleks before the end of the school. You could work on it anytime, but the only problem is that you have to have WiFi or wired internet just to go on Aleks and work on it. In my opinion Aleks is the best thing for math ever.

          I also like it because you can finish it and go onto algebra; the only bad part is that it can make you do a problem on another slice of the pie. I wish that everyone could have aleks as their math learning program. I am glad that this year we have aleks instead of worksheets or working out of the book. The good part about aleks is that if you don’t understand a topic you can work on it even more and it isn’t due the very next day, it’s especially is helpful of you don’t have time to go on aleks you can work on it as long as you want whenever you want, you just need Wi-Fi.

          There are many advantages to aleks, because if you don’t get what the teacher tells you how to do a topic it has an explain button. I wonder how many schools work on aleks in the world. I don’t know why we use aleks, but it is a great math learning site and advantage.
