The Decision to Save the World

Author's Note: I wrote about The Throne of Fire, because it was the most recent book I have read so it was easy to remember what happened. In this piece I tried to accurately describe what the Conflict and Resolution was.

The Conflict of the book The Throne Of Fire is that the God of chaos is about to break through the Duat which is a magical realm to Egyptian magicians. If Apophis the Snake of chaos breaks out of the Duat it means that he will devour the sun God Ra and also devour the sun. If Apophis devours the sun then the world will fall into chaos and the world would end. If Carter and Sadie Kane are going to be able to defeat the God of chaos Apophis they will need to resurrect the sun god Ra. The only way for them to resurrect the sun god Ra is for them to find the book of Ra which has been separated into three different parts so that Ra would never be resurrected.

They need to find all three scrolls to resurrect Ra, Ra is the only one that is able to defeat the snake of chaos Apophis. It is a challenge for them to find the scrolls, because they were never supposed to be found and put back together. Since Ra has slumbered for a long time there has already been another king of the gods. The king of the gods was Horus unless they resurrect Ra, if they resurrect Ra that means that Horus would not be the king of the gods. Some gods agree, don't care, or they don't want Ra to be resurrected. Carter and Sadie end up getting all three scrolls after some difficulties and resurrect the sun god Ra, the only problem is that he can also choose the gods and most want him to choose them. If he chooses to resurrect Ra the gods will disagree and be against him.

The Red Pyramid

Author's Note: I wrote about The Red Pyramid, by Rick Riordan, because it was easy to write about the cause and effect from this book , because I have read this book recently. In this piece I tried to accurately say what they had to do.

In the Red Pyramid, a book by Rick Riordan the two main characters are Carter and Sadie. They are two young magicians who are descendants from two of the most powerful pharaohs in Egypt. They face a trouble in the book which is the lord of chaos Set, and he is building a red pyramid so that he can absorb the power from Osiris the god of the dead. If he absorbs the power from Osiris he will be able to make a storm that would destroy the world.

Carter and Sadie have to find the book of Thoth, a feather of truth, and Sets secret name to destroy Set. They must first find the book of Thoth to find a spell that would destroy set. Anyone's secret name is there experiences and what they are about. They must find his secret name by someone close to him. Since they have to find out his secret name they must ask his sister. They also have to go to the underworld to retrieve a feather of truth which is a challenge because they have to trust a demon bound by a spell to lead them there. Once they have all three components they must find and destroy him so he doesn't destroy the world.

Track and Field

Crowds of people cheering, being on a school track in the springtime, the temperature warm and the leaves back on the trees waving in the wind. That was what it was like last year in Track and Field for me, and running against and with the wind. In the spring boys could join Track for the season and join many events to do in meets against different schools. I know that Track is the best sport to join at school.

Although Track is the best sport to join it can be a horrible sport if you don't enjoy running or strength events. I personally like high jump out of all the events because it combines both running and strength in your legs. I could barely make it over the bar in high jump so I kept trying and trying and occasionly got better at it, but at meets I got too nervous and hit the bar. Even though I rarely made it over the bar I thought I should just quit the event because I never made it over the bar, I didn't quit because my friends kept encouraging me.

Although it was challenging my friends kept encouraging me I got better and started to not get nervous everytime I was about to jump. I would always try over and over again I got better and made it over the bar more, but sadly when I started to get more comfortable the season ended. I got comfortable when jumping over the bar and now I have to start all over. Even though I only did high jump that year I tried different events, but I wasn't good at any other events like long jump.

Even though high jump is pretty fun all of the other events are also fun. I should have tried more than just high jump, but I learned that the only event other than running distance is high jump. I should have joined more events which would have given me more of a chance at winning in meets. Winning isn't everything, but it would've been nice to win once I should've joined more team events at the same time. If I would have joined a team event I could have help from others not just being alone in high jump.

I know that Track is the best sport to join. If anyone joins track they will have fun. If someone joins any sport they should enjoy it, because they join that sport with their own free will. If somebody joins a sport that they do not enjoy they shouldn't have joined the sport in the first place. No matter what sport you join you should always have good memories about it not horrible memories.
