Cole Matthews Transformation

Author's Note: I wrote about touching spirit bear because it was the most recent book I finished. I tried to connect what I said to text evidence in the book and to work on my word choice.

In the beginning of Touching Spirit Bear  by Ben Mikaelson a teenager named Cole Matthews is a horrifying kid because he has been beaten by his father. He gets very angry because Peter Driscal reported him and he smashes his head on the concrete. He is a teenager that doesn't think about what he has to do to get his payback. After he is sent to the island and shortly after gets mauled by the spirit bear he now knows what it feels like to get bullied. He changes forever after that incident, he is now bruised up from the attack and he feels like that was how Peter felt when he got beat up. After he realizes he has made a mistake. Cole went from starting bad to good after he got mauled and he is forever changed from that incident.

Our Founding Fathers

Author's Note: I wrote about how they became independent because it was for a patriots pen. I tried to to work on transitions into the next paragraph in this piece.

Patriots and loyalists lined up on a field, taking turns shooting and reloading, soldiers falling to the ground wounded and worse.  If I could ask the founding fathers anything I would ask them what it was like back then, and what happened to them while they were controlled by the British. Perhaps even what choices they had back then to free themselves from the British and even if they tried to pass their own laws while controlled by the British. Possibly how long did it take to finish the declaration of Independence  All in all I know that the founding fathers have not made any mistakes with making declaration of independence.

When the colonist created the thirteen colonies to get away from the King of England he still controlled them. The King of England kept making new laws or acts as they called them. The acts were used to tell the colonist were they could and couldn't go, raise taxes on everyday items and even house the British soldiers. Colonists had to deal with numerous situations in order for them to get independence.

Even though talking about how they got their independence and the acts is fun, what it was like back then is even more interesting. They no electricity like us which means they had no cars, phones, or computers which meant that they had to be creative. They had no cars to get around anywhere so they either had to walk, ride a horse, or ride on a carriage. They couldn't just email, text or call someone whenever they wanted, they had to make a letter by hand and send it which would take a long time to even get a letter back from them.

All in all I know that they had successfully become independent from the British. And the founding fathers had to go threw a lot of situations to get to where we are now, an independent country. Even though they knew that they might not make it back, they knew that in order for future generations to have a better life they had to become free from the British.
