A Clean, Well-Lighted Place Question
A cafe, clean, and well lighted. This is what it is like in the story A Clean, Well-lighted Place by Ernest Hemingway. Some important quotes from this book are "He hung himself with a rope.", "How much money has he got?" "He's got plenty." and "He had a wife once too." I know these quotes are the most important quotes of the story. The quote "He hung himself with a rope." is important because it means he was taking his life because he is depressed. Also "How much money has he got?" "He's got plenty." is important because it means he isn't depressed because he can barely scrape by. And finally "He had a wife once too." because this means that he is drinking because he is depressed because his wife divorced him.
