Imagine walking into a portal that would allow you to “tesser” to somewhere else quickly. In the book A Wrinkle in Time by Madeleine L’Engle three children named Meg, Charles Wallace and Calvin experience this on their journey. Some themes that are in this book are bravery, adventure, and friendship. I know that these are some of the themes in this book.
Although talking about these themes can be useful i’m going to discuss how they fit into the book. Bravery fits into this book because they go on a journey to places far from earth to save their father. They don’t know what is going to happen or what is even happening while they are on this journey. They venture far from earth with three mysterious women who say they will help them.
Although Bravery is a theme in this book don’t forget about adventure. This book is definitely about adventure from them going to the woods to find the three women and then the women “tessering” them to certain locations. The places they go they can’t take it all in because they need to move as swiftly as they can. They almost end up getting taken over because of all the “tessering” they had to do.
Although adventure is a cool theme don’t forget about the theme of friendship. Friendship is a very important part in this story. If the theme of friendship wasn’t in this story then some of the people wouldn’t be able to be saved. The only reason everyone made it back alive was because of friendship especially for Charles Wallace.
All in all this story demonstrates the themes of bravery, friendship and adventure. The themes in this book make the story really excellent. In the story these themes help guide what will happen later.
